Kylie Jenner Reveals Why She’s Left Her ‘King Kylie’ Days Behind

Dutiful Kylie Jenner fans remember the 27-year-old’s “King Kylie” era all too well. It was the mid-2010s, a time when the beauty mogul rocked bold hair colors in every color of the rainbow and thick, meticulously groomed brows with ultra-precise arches. While fans are eager for a revival of those iconic looks, it seems Jenner has no plans to revisit that aesthetic for longer than a brief stint—at least not anytime soon.

Jenner touched on this in her newly released Elle Magazine cover interview. The conversation arose after the Khy founder admitted to reviving her old Tumblr account, which she famously used during her “King Kylie” days. She also recently teased fans with a selfie sporting teal hair—a brief hair color change that had followers going wild in the comments, celebrating what they saw as a nod to the return of “King Kylie.”

Referring to the day she went teal, Jenner told the outlet that she had a “free day,” implying that the playful transformation was just a fun moment of experimentation. She explained that the “King Kylie” era “will always be a part of who I am, but it’ll never be what it was when I was younger. I probably would never wear lash extensions and thick eyebrows. There are just certain trends that I’ve grown out of.” (We get it, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be eagerly awaiting any more temporary “King Kylie” revivals in the future!)

Jenner also reflected fondly on her past beauty choices and her journey as a whole.  “I have to give my younger self grace,” she said. “I don’t like to have too many regrets in life. I think my path is what got me here today. I’m happy with where I am and just have to keep moving forward.”
