The New Shark FlexFusion Replaced All Four of My Hair Tools

I have a graveyard in my house. It’s a bathroom cabinet where my hair tools—four of them in total—are buried. I used to be very into styling my hair—not a day of college nor of my first real job went by that I wasn’t bouncing around with soft curls. But eventually, the effort became too great and, one by one, my tools styled their last strands and were moved to the aforementioned beauty cemetery. “It’s bad for my hair anyway,” I figured.

Little did I know I was just waiting for technology to catch up and kick my lackadaisical attitude to the curb. With the Shark FlexFusion + Straight, styling, straightening, and curling my usually frizzy strands are easier than I can ever remember (and without the hot tool damage), and my hair’s bounce has returned to its former glory. This innovative tool can be used on wet or dry hair and is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the Shark FlexStyle—but no less mighty.

The system comes with five accessories: the Wet-or-Dry Fusion Air Straightener, the Wet-or-Dry Fusion Brush (for smooth blowouts), two 1.25-inch Auto-Wrap Curlers, and a Styling Concentrator. There are various modes to choose from (Wet, Dry, and the derm-codeveloped Scalp Shield), and switching between them takes nothing more than a toggle or hold of a button.

Shark Beauty recommends rough-drying your hair using the dryer part, then choosing either the Wet-or-Dry Fusion Air Straightener or Wet-or-Dry Fusion Brush to finish the job. In as little as one pass, I could tell the straightener would be a game-changer. It smoothes and dries hair simultaneously with no heat damage, leaving a silky finish. Using the Wet-or-Dry Fusion Brush—which didn’t snag or tug at all—gave me that “fresh from the salon” look, with impressive volume and noticeably less frizz than air drying. To add bouncy curls to the look, the Auto-Wrap curlers grabbed my hair gently and easily.

So I’ve now dug out my curling iron, ceramic straightener, and two blow-dry brushes from the graveyard and passed them along to more patient, hair-savvy friends. The Shark FlexFusion Straight is the only tool I need, and the only one I’ll use from now on.
