Kylie Jenner flirted with her 2015 King Kylie look multiple times in 2024, wearing both teal and pink wigs. Don’t expect her to recreate the full aesthetic for its 10-year anniversary next year, though.
In her ELLE cover story, the star spoke about why there are some elements of her King Kylie look that she wants to leave in the past. When she did donned teal hair in September, “I had a free day,” she explained. So she and her glam team had a little fun. That era “will always be a part of who I am, but it’ll never be what it was when I was younger,” she said. “I probably would never wear lash extensions and thick eyebrows. There are just certain trends that I’ve grown out of.”
Jenner also told ELLE the origin story of her current “dark feminine” aesthetic.
She does not consider her style to be quiet luxury at all: “I think I’m actually going in the opposite direction,” she said. “I’ve definitely had some moments of quiet luxury, as they would say, but I’m always experimenting. At the root of my authentic style, I think I’m more dark feminine.”
This shift came in part because “I haven’t had a baby in a few years. The first part of my twenties was having children, learning what my personal style was and then losing it—not knowing how to dress, gaining 60 pounds for both pregnancies. It took me a year to feel like myself again. At 27, I feel more confident and more like myself than ever.”
